Update - Thursday, September 7, 2006

On Wednesday, September 6th, we had a visit from another representative from the WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation).  She told us that a final decision has not yet been made on what they want to do about a retention pond in our area.  She said they are still looking at several options, including using part or all of our land, but also including at least one option that would not affect us at all.  She said they hoped to have a final decision by the end of September.  She apologized for some of the earlier communications from WSDOT, saying there had been misunderstandings and miscommunications.  She also indicated a willingness to work with us to find a solution that would enable us to stay here, so that is encouraging.  It is far from over yet, and we may still lose Bedside Manor, but at least this gives us some hope.  The first public meeting of the Environmental Impact Assessment process is on Thursday, September 14th, and perhaps we will learn more at that time.

Thanks again to all our supporters, for the support you have given us in this matter.
