2010 Australia Trip
My fifth Australian birding trip is planned for October/November 2010. I plan to fly into Sydney, go north along the coast to Newcastle, then head to inland New South Wales. From there, I plan to visit northwest Victoria, including Hattah-Kulkayne and Wyperfeld, then move on to South Australia. This will be my first visit to the state of South Australia, and I plan to visit Gluepot Reserve, move on to the Flinders Ranges, north of Adelaide, and then work my way down to Adelaide, which is the capital of South Australia. After that, I plan to drive along the coast of South Australia to the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, then around to Werribee, which is just southwest of Melbourne, in the state of Victoria. I'll be visiting a combination of places I have seen before, mostly on my 2004 trip, and new places (inland New South Wales and South Australia). It will be about 2600 miles of driving, not including local birding and side trips. Below is a map of my route, and below that is my itinerary. While on the trip, I plan to add links to commentary (Ramblings) and pictures (Photos), as I have done for the last few trips.
